Crystal Ann Edwards is an award winning sociologist, writer,
and advocate. In 2019, she was nominated for the University of Nebraska Omaha College of Arts and Sciences Teaching Excellence Award and her poetry was accepted for the 2019 Voices from the Plains Volume III. She earned a PhD in sociology from the University of Nebraska Lincoln while serving the community. She received the Good Neighbor Award from the University Place Neighborhood Association in 2009. She developed a social science library for Omaha, Nebraska, which can be found by clicking on the link Omaha Social Project. She serves on the Board of Directors for Mode Shift Omaha as secretary and leads the Walkability and Council Bluffs Teams whose mission is to elevate the status of multi modal transportation in the Omaha metro. A member of Nebraska Writers Guild and Nonprofit Association of the Midlands, her passions include walking, travel, gardening for wildlife, and cooking. Her bucket list includes space travel and sailing around the world by celestial navigation; all of which she would like to do with her devoted husband, two wonderful children, miniature Schnauzer, and Giant Flemish Rabbit.
